10 Things I Can"t Live Without: My Must- Have Items At All Times

23 AUGUST / 2023 / 16:00

Welcome to this article, where I'll be sharing my 10 daily essential items that I can't live without. This list was inspired by JQ's video on 10 essential items, which got me thinking about the things that I rely on to get me through the day.

Whether I'm at work, running errands, or just relaxing at home, these items help me to feel confident, comfortable, and prepared for anything. So, without further ado, let's dive into my 10 must-have items. This article is based on a YouTube video I created on the same topic.

My Laptop and Mobile Phone

As someone who works with international clients and students, having access to technology is crucial. That's why I always have my MacBook Air and phone with me, and I consider them as one item since I use them interchangeably.

My MacBook Air is lightweight and easy to carry, and it's always in my favourite laptop case, which also fits other essentials like chargers, headphones, and notebooks. This MacBook is special to me because I wrote both of my books on it, and I'll keep using it until it crashes down. Having my laptop and phone with me at all times is essential for staying connected and productive.

My Scents & Candles

Scents are an essential part of my life, and I'm a huge collector of candles and incense sticks. Aromatherapy has been a huge part of my daily routine, and I love having different scents around me. I'm always open to trying out new candles and different textures, but I have a few brands that I particularly love.

One of my favourites is Byredo, and I especially enjoy their Woods and Bibliotheque scents. Recently, I also purchased a Jo Malone Myrrh and Tonka candle, which has a deep and interesting scent. Scents and candles are important to me, and I can't imagine going a day without lighting one up.

Multiple Notebooks

I always carry three notebooks with me, each with a specific purpose. The small Hermes planner is for quick notes, while the larger agenda is for bigger goals and aspirations. It has an inside pocket for business cards and cutouts from magazines. The third notebook is for YouTube video and collaboration ideas.

These notebooks are essential for my work, and the best part is that I can always refill the inside and keep the leather cover forever. Separating personal and business ideas is important, and having multiple notebooks helps me keep them organised. Each notebook is an investment piece and serves a specific purpose in my life.

Books

Books are an essential item for me, and I always carry my own books, "Afternoon Tea Etiquette" and "Etiquette," with me. I use them during online classes or when I want to gift someone. I always have a book with me, whether I'm travelling or just going about my day.

Sometimes I read a few books simultaneously, and other times, I carry one book with me everywhere I go. Currently, I'm reading "The Nudge," and it's proving to be an interesting book. Carrying a book with me is an essential part of my daily routine, and I'm always on the lookout for new and exciting reads.

My Sunscreen or SPF 50

An SPF cream with a tinted colour is an essential item for me. I use Shiseido's SPF 50 cream, which is water-resistant and quick-drying. It's a new discovery for me, and I've stopped using any kind of BB or CC cream since I started using it. I prefer to let my skin breathe, and this cream gives me full face coverage, under-eye correction, and SPF protection without feeling sticky or uncomfortable.

I only use BB cream or foundation on packed days with photo shoots, video shoots, or meetings with clients. SPF 50 cream is a daily essential that allows me to go makeup-free while still protecting my skin.

Eau de beaute mist

Caudalie eau de beaute mist is a daily essential for me, and I love its amazing scent. I discovered it in a YouTube video called "French Pharmacy Essentials" and have been using it ever since. I love how it makes my skin feel, and it's an important part of my daily routine for pampering myself and taking care of my skin. I use it throughout the day, whether in the morning, while studying, or before going to sleep. The mist's texture and scent are both important to me, and it's a must-have item for anyone looking to add a touch of luxury to their daily routine.

Eye Drops

An important part of my daily routine is the use of Lumify eye drops, which I discovered through a YouTube video. These drops decrease redness in the eyes and make them appear brighter. As someone who spends a lot of time in front of a screen, my eyes tend to get red and tired by the end of the day. I use the drops in the morning and afternoon to alleviate the redness and refresh my eyes. Lumify has been a game-changer for me, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable redness reliever.

Hand Cream

Hand creams are an important part of my daily routine, especially because I use my hands a lot while teaching and gesturing. My go-to hand cream is Chanel La Creme, which makes my hands feel like they have a glove on. Although it's more expensive, it's worth the investment.

For those on a budget, I also recommend Zielinski and Rozen's Black Pepper, Amber, and Neroli hand cream, which has a beautiful scent and is organic, and Yvoire's hand cream, which has shea butter, olive oil, and aloe vera and smells like lavender, vanilla, and patchouli. These creams keep my hands soft and well-moisturised, and I highly recommend them.

Perfumes

Another essential item that I carry with me every day is my perfume or perfumes. I always make sure to have it in my bag, even if I'm only carrying my wallet. To protect it from spills and prying eyes, I keep it in a discreet pouch that I repurposed from an old accessory.

This pouch not only keeps my perfume safe but also allows me to apply it without anyone noticing. I simply open the pouch slightly, apply the perfume, and then close it back up. This is my personal trick to keep my perfume with me at all times, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to discreetly carry their favourite scent.

Coffee and Coffee Cups

The final item I can’t do without is a cup of coffee. It's a morning ritual for me, and I even enjoy it in the late afternoon. I take my coffee plain, without any sugar or milk, but I add a touch of cinnamon for extra flavour. Selecting the perfect cup to complement my mood or attire is also important to me.

Recently, I brought back a special cup from Milan, from a famous pastry and coffee shop, which I cherish and reminds me of my trip. I love collecting cups and brewing a fresh cup of coffee or tea to enjoy in a beautiful mug.
